Hate
I hate you for the things you do but I love you
I curse you for your beauty
that makes me write some poetry about love
and I don't think you even think about me
if only you were smiling
and I was your reason
then tommorrow I could die.
There have been thousands of great poets throughout the ages - far too many to mention in such a confined space, but I will list a few of my favourites.
William Shakespeare - arguably one of the greatest poets of them all.
The Romantic Poets - Keats, Shelley, Wordsworth, Blake. Their use of natural imagery and freedom of expression were simply divine. Not forgetting either, that they were visionaries for their time and many of their concerns with the world are still of much relevance today.
Alfred Tennyson - conjured up some of the most powerful and vivid poems known today.
Wilfred Owen - the ultimate war poet.

I prefer Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson myself, his version of 'The Festival Of Farts' is simply breathtaking. Such poetry and wordsmith to rhyme the words "boquet" with "decay", I think y'all agree.
